(RTTNews) - Food maker Kraft Foods Inc. (KFT: News ) is scheduled to report second-quarter earnings on Thursday.
The Northfield, Illinois-based company acquired British confectioner Cadbury in February 2010 in a deal worth 11.9 billion pounds. The deal was aimed at expanding the company's reach in the developing markets and also to strengthen its product portfolio. Investors will be curious to know the benefits the deal has led to in the past few months.
Early this year, Kraft severed its coffee distribution deal with Starbucks Corp (SBUX). A tenth of Kraft's $5 billion global coffee business was made up by Starbucks. The company said in April that it would launch its Gevalia coffee to U.S. supermarkets in August to make up for the loss of business due to the discontinuation of the distribution deal. Kraft is likely to give an update today on the progress it has made on this move.
